In anticipation of reopening our Chilliwack location, we’re gearing up to build an incredible leadership team.
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) delivers an outstanding guest experience by leading service, supporting daily operations, and energizing the team. Working closely with the General Manager, this role drives high service standards, staff development, and a memorable, engaging atmosphere. The AGM also stays hands‑on with serving, stocking, cleaning, ordering, and sales support to keep the operation running smoothly and efficiently.
This position reports to the General Manager and alternatively the Hospitality Manager from time to time.

Responsibilities

Guest Experience and Sales

+ Ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining and carrying out OYB’s high standards of service and hospitality, pacing, and overall guest flow.+ Consistently contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to drive revenue and profitability. + Support merchandising and retail sales through engaging product presentation and staff coaching.+ Jump in to serve, stock, clean, or assist with sales whenever needed.

Team Leadership

+ Motivate, coach, and support team members to enhance their skills and performance.+ Assist the General Manager with hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training.+ Help resolve guest or staff conflicts calmly and professionally, modeling effective problem-solving.+ Recognize and celebrate wins, reinforcing positive behaviors and boosting team morale.+ Coach team members in real time, offering constructive feedback that builds confidence and sharpens skills.

Operations

+ Assist the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including team member management, scheduling, inventory management, quality control, etc.+ Assist the General Manager in various administrative tasks such as payroll, reporting, inventory management, etc.+ Champion and ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.+ Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness throughout the front of house.+ Roll up your sleeves and do what’s necessary to get the job done and complete other duties as required within the same scope and level.

Qualifications

+ 2 years of direct-related experience in a similar role in a restaurant setting.+ Well rounded knowledge of restaurant operations.+ A knowledge and passion for craft beer, and the brewing industry is an asset.+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to make genuine connections and motivate and inspire team members. + High energy and performance-driven with a strong desire for continuous improvement.+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, including superior interpersonal skills.+ Strong ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.+ Able to work evenings and weekends as required.+ Serving it Right certification or ability to get one (must be of legal age).
