Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations within a dynamic restaurant environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about the food industry to develop their skills and gain valuable kitchen experience. The Commis will work closely with senior chefs to ensure high standards of food safety and quality are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and meal components according to recipes and standards
Support cooking processes, including frying, grilling, baking, and plating dishes
Ensure proper food handling and hygiene practices are followed in compliance with food safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment
Help with inventory management by receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
Support the team during busy service hours by efficiently executing assigned tasks
Follow all safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Experience

Prior experience in serving, food preparation, or cooking is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is advantageous
Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards is desirable
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and kitchen operations will be beneficial for success in this role
A passion for the food industry and a willingness to learn new skills are essential for growth within our team

Pay: $15.00-$26.49 per hour
