Tetra Tech is adding an Intermediate Piping Stress Engineer to our Mechanical Engineering team based in Calgary, AB.

Your Role:
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
-
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered in Alberta and/or British Columbia, or eligible for registration.
-
5+ years of experience in piping stress analysis and pipeline/piping system design within an industrial consulting engineering environment.
-
Proficiency with piping stress analysis software such as CAESAR II and/or AutoPIPE.
-
Strong working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards including ASME, CSA, API, ASTM, and NFPA.

Experience preparing registration packages for piping and pressure vessel systems for provincial safety authorities, including ABSA and/or BCSA.

Experience performing hot tap calculations for piping, tanks, and pressure vessels.

Experience with pressure vessel design and evaluation software such as PV Elite and CodeCalc is considered an asset.

Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) software such as NozzlePRO or FE-Pipe is considered an asset.

Practical knowledge of piping systems, supports, installation, and field execution activities.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with both clients and internal project teams.

Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
