Description

DV8 Energy is looking for a Prototype Tester with strong expertise in IoT and embedded systems. In this role, you will be an integral part of our product development team, evaluating and refining cutting-edge energy technology prototypes to ensure they deliver reliable performance in real-world conditions. Your observations and feedback will have a direct impact on our product design, quality, and innovation, helping us bring next-generation energy solutions to market.

Responsibilities

Test and validate IoT-enabled energy prototypes and embedded devices under real-world conditions.
Analyze device performance, reliability, power consumption, and communication protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, MQTT, LoRa, etc.).
Develop, execute, and maintain test procedures, including automated scripts and regression tests where applicable.
Document results, identify defects or inefficiencies, and provide actionable recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to troubleshoot issues and refine prototypes.
Contribute to product validation cycles, ensuring prototypes meet functional, safety, and performance requirements.
Assist in defining quality standards, test strategies, and best practices for future product development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
2–3+ years of experience in embedded systems, IoT device testing, firmware validation, or QA roles involving hardware‑software integration.
Solid understanding of embedded systems architecture, microcontroller platforms, and IoT communication protocols (BLE, Wi‑Fi, MQTT, UART, SPI, I²C).
Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g., Python) for test automation and tooling, with experience using test frameworks or automation tools.
Hands-on experience with embedded firmware validation, functional testing, and test planning, including developing/executing test cases and logging defects.
Skilled with hardware test and debugging tools such as logic analyzers, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging abilities across hardware and firmware boundaries.
Excellent written and verbal communication for documenting issues and collaborating with engineering teams.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, reliability, and real-world performance.
