Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator

The Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator is a dynamic, multi-faceted role that supports the marketing team to enhance Kal Tire’s brand presence, marketing effectiveness & charitable profile within local communities. This role requires a detail oriented, hands-on person, who is responsible for coordinating programs in the areas of corporate social responsibility and local marketing. This role works closely with the marketing team, other Vernon Office departments and key operations stakeholders to plan, administer and execute activities such as grant donations, charitable fundraisers, and local marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities
Community Engagement Programs

Oversees the digital application processes for Community Engagement (CE) programs, including reviewing, summarizing, and short-listing applications for the CE committees

Coordinate program communications and marketing. This includes replying to inquiries about donations/sponsorships, notifying applicants about the status of their applications, promoting the programs to potential applicants, coordinating local team engagements with community events, drafting social media and website content, etc.

Organize the administrative & payment processes for grants and donations, including collecting paperwork from grant recipients, producing agreement documents for signature by required stakeholders, preparing cheque requisitions, getting approvals for payments, and tracking payment status.

Coordinate marketing and publicity plans to ensure positive brand messaging for Kal Tire resulting from community engagement programs.

Gather and organize program data, outcomes, photos, video, media coverage, etc. and draft annual internal reports on behalf of the CE committees.

Assist with preparation of presentation, reports, newsletters and other communication materials to educate stakeholders of status and progress of CE programs.

Make recommendations to continually improve all aspects of community engagement programs.
Local Store Marketing

Develop, maintain and support local marketing infrastructure & resources including the Local Marketing SharePoint site and related learning modules

Grow, optimize and maintain local marketing portal for quick access to marketing materials by Store Team Members

Maintain positive working relationships with key vendors who assist Kal Tire teams with effective and impactful execution of local marketing activities

Provide guidance and support to Kal Tire stores in developing and executing local marketing plans

Execute new store opening marketing plans to ensure sales targets are met at new Kal Tire stores

Assist with design of advertising and promotional materials to ensure compliance with brand guidelines in local marketing activities

Collaborate with Kal Tire stores to plan and execute in-store & community events to build brand and drive sales in local markets
Charity & Donation Activities

Responds to donation and fundraising inquiries with professionalism and poise.

Coordinates donation activities for special requests from Kal Tire management.

Acts as point-of-contact for any charity/fundraising activities undertaken by Kal Tire.

Other duties as requested.
Requirements

3-4 years of marketing, administrative and/or CE experience (or a combination thereof)

Strong working knowledge of marketing & CE principles and a keen passion for the work

Strong organizational skills to keep projects moving and deliverables on time.

Detail-oriented with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple (often competing) deadlines.

Comfortable working independently and making decisions.

Impactful communicator with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal & external stakeholders.

Resourceful and results-oriented

Ability to incorporate feedback and key learnings from various projects and make recommendations for improvement.

Working knowledge of MS Office tools including PowerPoint, Word & Excel.

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements

Some travel is required.
- Overtime as required to support marketing activations and special events

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (or willingness to learn) an asset.

The target salary range for this position is $67,090-$77,110 per year based on experience.
