Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be proficient in operating various machines and precision measurement tools for the production of high-quality components. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Duties

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blue prints, charts, and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations;
Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and layout work pieces;
Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled CNC tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precision grinding and other operations;
Fit and assemble machined metal/composite parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools;
Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments;
Set up and program CNC machine with MasterCam;
Handling of large components according to safe practices, overhead crane and/or forklift;
Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports;
Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols;
Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.

Experience

Proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex machinery and tools.
Familiarity with CNC programming and operation.
Basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring devices is essential.

College machining course and 4-year apprenticeship program
