Job Summary
As Telematics Supervisor, you'll coordinate the people, systems, and processes that keep our rental fleet connected and visible. You'll oversee the day-to-day telematics function, coordinating installation activities, supporting branch teams, and helping develop a growing telematics program. As the function continues to evolve, you'll have the opportunity to take on greater leadership responsibilities, including supervising and developing a dedicated team.
What You'll Be Doing
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the telematics function, assigning and prioritizing installation, troubleshooting, and connectivity work.
- Provide guidance and support to installers, branch technicians, and internal stakeholders to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Help establish installation standards, best practices, and quality expectations across the organization.
- Support the growth and development of the telematics team as the function expands.
- Oversee the administration and performance of all telematics platforms across the rental fleet.
- Manage telematics hardware inventory, installations, activations, and replacements.
- Monitor API integrations and data feeds to ensure accurate equipment location, engine hours, utilization, and diagnostic information.
- Coordinate with Operations, IT, branch teams, and vendors to resolve technical issues and improve telematics performance.
- Develop reports and identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency, data quality, and business processes.
What You'll Bring to the Team
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in telematics, fleet management, equipment rental, or a related technical environment.
- Experience coordinating projects, supporting teams, or leading initiatives is considered an asset.
- Class G Driver's license and a satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
- Proficiency with fleet management systems, telematics portals, and data reporting tools.
- Ability to interpret technical data, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with vendors.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is an asset but not required—we're looking for someone with the potential to grow into a people leadership role.
- Strong understanding of telematics hardware, software platforms, and system integrations.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
