Full job description

Position: Bartender

Department: Food & Beverage / Bar

Reports to: Bar Manager / Restaurant Supervisor

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and personable Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, interacting with guests, maintaining bar cleanliness, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. A successful bartender combines excellent customer service with deep product knowledge and a passion for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers in a friendly and timely manner.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customer preferences.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of drink menus, specials, and ingredients.
Check identification to verify guests are of legal drinking age.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including restocking supplies.
Handle cash and card transactions accurately using POS systems.
Engage with guests, take orders, and make recommendations when appropriate.
Monitor guest behavior and ensure responsible alcohol service.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Assist with bar opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, and inventory.
Support team members during busy shifts and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a bartender in a high-volume or hospitality setting.
Knowledge of common drink recipes, mixology techniques, and bar equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills and comfort handling money and credit transactions.
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and have appropriate alcohol service certification.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with bar inventory management and ordering procedures.
Experience with POS systems.
Creativity in crafting signature cocktails or drink specials.
Strong team player with a positive attitude.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
Comfortable working in a loud, busy environment.
