JOB OVERVIEW
The Labour Market Research Analyst will support CFWD’s work through the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of labour market information across our catchment area.
The successful candidate will help produce reports, data summaries, presentations, briefing notes, and other research products that inform workforce development planning and community decision-making.
This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, excellent writing ability, and a keen interest in labour market intelligence and regional workforce issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research and Analysis
- Conduct labour market and workforce research relevant to CFWD’s catchment area
- Gather and analyze data from sources such as Statistics Canada, provincial and federal labour market sources, surveys, consultations, partner agencies and sector reports
- Monitor local, regional, provincial, and national labour market trends
- Identify workforce issues, emerging patterns, and opportunities
Reporting and Communication
- Prepare research reports, labour market summaries, briefing notes, community profiles, and presentation materials
- Translate complex data into clear, accessible language for a variety of audiences
- Support the preparation of materials for stakeholders, funders, partners, CFWD staff and its Board of Directors
Stakeholder and Project Support
- Support consultations, roundtables, surveys, and other engagement activities
- Contribute research to workforce development initiatives and special projects
- Respond to requests for labour market information from partners and stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with CFWD staff and community partners
Data Management
- Maintain organized research files, source documentation, and datasets
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Track project timelines and deliverables
And performs additional duties as required to support organizational operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education - Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field such as:
- Economics
- Sociology
- Statistics
- Public Policy
- Geography
- Business
- Labour Studies
- Social Sciences
- or a related discipline
Experience
- Experience in labour market research, data analysis, policy analysis, community-based research, or report writing
- Experience in the non-profit, public sector, education, economic development, or government-funded service environment is considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret data and identify meaningful trends and insights
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Close attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of labour market information and workforce development is an asset
- Experience with survey tools, databases, or data visualization tools is an asset
Working Conditions
- Hybrid / remote work
- Occasional travel within Renfrew, Lanark, Hastings, Prince Edward, and Lennox & Addington Counties may be required
- Occasional evening/weekend meetings and community events may be required

Pay: $47,500.00-$52,500.00 per year
