Job Description:
Community Engagement
· Establish and nurture community partnerships throughout all of Hastings-Prince Edward and Brighton which will result in financial support for fundraising events and program events through sponsorships, promotions and donations.
· Work with Executive Director,Operations to develop and maintain strong social media presence
· Develop, implement and evaluate proactive promotional/media campaigns in relation to societies fundraising events and campaigns independently and as part of our Federation work with Alzheimer’s Society’s in Ontario’s (ASiO) in consultation with the Executive Director(s).
· Plan and coordinate the development of materials related to fundraising events, campaigns (e.g. promotional materials, brochures, invitations, programs, media releases, newsletter articles, website pages) in consultation with Executive Director,Operations
· Respond to inquiries about fundraising events and campaigns (goals, results, use of funds)
· Increase community engagement to drive increases in Community Education/Awareness Presentations resulting in more 3rd Party Events
Event Management
· Develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate major strategic fundraising events and campaigns (e.g. IG Walk for Alzheimer’s, annual Gala, etc.) by maintaining and developing strong volunteer committees throughout our catchment area as appropriate.
· Collaborate with the Executive Director, Programs to ensure sufficient trained volunteer support is available for each fundraising event and campaign.
· Collaborate with the Executive Director, Operations in maintaining records and statistics for each fundraising event and campaign.
· Prepare fundraising event/campaign reports for the purposes of evaluation and decision-making.
· Explore and assist as appropriate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of third-party fundraising events and projects.
Donor Development
· Collaborate with Executive Director, Operations and ASiO in:
o ensuring that fundraising event/campaign participants, sponsors, donors and volunteers are appropriately recognized for their contributions.
o providing proper stewardship and recognition to new and existing donors to maintain donor involvement, interest and support.
· Identify corporate and individual prospects, develop relationships, prepare and deliver related funding submissions and proposals.
· In Collaboration with ASiO develop, promote, implement and manage a planned giving and major gift program.
Additional Qualifications & Requirements:
· Undergraduate degree or diploma in relevant program/field, or equivalent education/experience considered
· Commitment to the mission, goals and values of the Society.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Previous experience in fund development, fundraising; public relations and volunteer engagement
· Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge, graphic design (Canva) and social media.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Ability to define realistic, specific goals and objectives; and to prioritize objectives.
· Ability to work independently and be accountable for follow-up as well as being a contributing member of a work team
· Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
· Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and financial commitments of the organization
· Ability to work effectively with a not-for-profit organization and a volunteer Board of Directors.
Travel Requirements:
Must have access to a vehicle with appropriate license and insurance as there will be some travel throughout Hastings, Prince Edward County and Brighton
Physical Demands:
· Occasional lifting of 50 lbs+ for preparation for book sale events
· Significant periods sitting at the computer, but with the opportunity to move away from the workstation
· Sensory attention is required for the majority of the workday (looking at computer screen, reading documents, etc.)
