Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing efficient administrative support within a busy walk in clinic or Family Practice clinic environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong office skills, familiarity with electronic medical records, and experience in front desk operations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional setting that values attention to detail, excellent communication, and patient care. Prior experience with dental or medical office systems is highly preferred.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner at the front desk.
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages.
Maintain and update electronic medical records using systems such as JUNO and OSCAR.
Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing procedures.
Prepare and organize patient charts, forms, and documentation for appointments.
Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence.
Ensure the waiting area remains clean and welcoming for patients.
Support clinical staff as needed with administrative duties related to patient care.
The role also requires knowledge of medical terminology and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting.
Great to have phlebotomy certificate.

Skills

Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as JUNO and OSCAR.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare settings.
Experience working as a dental receptionist or in a dental office environment preferred.
Previous medical office experience highly desirable.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance providers.
Familiarity with office equipment including multi-line phone systems, fax machines, and scanners.
Should be technically sound to act upon any technical resolutions (printer not scanning/ wifi is slow etc. )
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
