Casual Childcare Support Staff Overview

Beeing Kidz Playcare Cafe is seeking compassionate, dependable, and flexible Casual Childcare Support Staff to join our growing team. This position assists in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while supporting the daily operations of our childcare programs.

This role offers flexible, as-needed hours to assist with staffing coverage, program support, and special events. Ideal candidates will have a genuine passion for working with children and an interest in supporting early childhood development in a positive, play-based environment.

This is a casual/on-call position with no guaranteed weekly hours.

Duties

Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, and social development
Assist with daily routines including meals, transitions, outdoor play, and rest periods
Support children’s emotional, physical, and social well-being in a caring and respectful manner
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized childcare environment
Provide support during staff absences, busy periods, and special programming days
Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent care and positive communication
Observe children’s behaviours and needs and communicate important information with staff when necessary
Follow all childcare policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing regulations

Qualifications & Skills

Experience working with children in a childcare, educational, recreational, or caregiving setting preferred
Experience supporting children with diverse needs or disabilities is considered an asset
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Patient, nurturing, and dependable personality
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of child safety practices and early childhood development principles preferred
First Aid & CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Clean Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks

Position Details

Casual / On-Call Position
Flexible scheduling based on operational needs
Weekday availability preferred
