Full job description

Fowler Construction is seeking highly experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to skillfully operate excavators, dozers, and/or graders. A strong commitment to safety, along with significant roadbuilding and civil construction experience, is essential for the role.

Key Responsibilities

Skillfully operate equipment to level and smooth surfaces, dig holes and trenches, and move earth and other materials as instructed.
Execute the daily plan and work sequence under the direction of the foreperson or superintendent and complete work tasks as directed in an effective safety-conscious manner.
Work with and alongside lead hands and labourers to successfully complete the required work.
Perform physical labour when required to meet the demands of the project.
Follow direction as provided by the foreperson, lead hand, superintendent, and spotter.
Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure it’s in good working condition.
Ensure cleanliness of equipment and operator cab.

Position Requirements

5+ years of equipment operation in a civil construction environment.
Significant skills in operating graders, excavators and/or dozers (can be limited to one specialty).
Ability to work and follow directions in challenging work environments.
Strong work ethic and ability to work with a team.
Must be willing and capable of performing physical labour when needed.
Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach etc…
Punctual and available to work.
Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Work Conditions

Travel to various sites will be required.
