The Role:
We are seeking an energetic and reliable Warehouse Assistant to support daily warehouse operations by packaging, preparing, receiving, and dispatching shipments. This role is essential to ensuring products move efficiently through our warehouse and reach customers accurately and on time.
The Warehouse Assistant will load and unload incoming and outgoing delivery vehicles, pick products from warehouse inventory, prepare shipments, and secure goods onto pallets for transport. You will move inventory to the designated shipping area and assist with loading products for delivery. Some products require pre-assembly to ensure safe and efficient shipping, and this role will assist with those preparation tasks as needed. The position also includes receiving incoming stock, unloading deliveries, transporting inventory, and storing items in their designated warehouse locations.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment is a key part of this role. The Warehouse Assistant is expected to follow all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures while supporting an efficient and productive warehouse operation.
Job Responsibilities:
· Assist with developing and executing inventory tracking procedures
· Clear communication with their supervisor, able and willing to escalate to management as needed
· Perform risk management to minimize potential risks
· Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors as needed
· Wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
· Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
· Accepting delivery of inventory
· Counting and confirming inventory
· Inspecting inventory for damage and faults
· Communicating errors to relevant parties
· Marking and labeling stock
· Storing inventory in an accessible manner
· Loading and wrapping stock on pallets
· Building loads by hand, with forklift and pallet jack
· Communication with customers and shipping companies
· Preparing shipping documentation and quotes
· Work closely with the sales and operations team for execution of shipments.
· Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of materials meets customers’ expectations and business timelines
· Pick items according to sales order forms
· Ship and fulfill customer orders in inventory system, inputting corresponding tracking numbers
· Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required
Job Requirements:
· Requires a strong decision maker, problem solver and forward thinker
· Work experience as general laborer, preferably in warehouse
· Ability to be resilient, assertive, optimistic and open to change
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to operate forklift proficiently (BranValt will provide training)
· Ability to obtain certificate of dangerous goods shipping (needed for small batteries, BranValt will supply training)
· Positive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team
· Good moral character
· Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance
· Sitting for long period of times, lifting and packaging parcels/product as required
· Physically strong, agile and dexterous, and undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions
· Ability to lift and handle objects/products in the 70-pound range
· Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
