Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and caring Camp Counselors to create a positive and engaging environment for children at our summer camp(s). The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising campers, leading activities, and ensuring a safe, fun, and educational experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children and fostering their development through various recreational and educational activities.

Duties

Act as a role model and represent the OMAC Martial Arts in a positive manner.
Supervise and monitor children during all camp activities, ensuring safety at all times
Lead and facilitate a variety of recreational, arts, sports, and educational activities tailored to different age groups
Assist with planning daily schedules and special events to promote engagement and learning
Provide guidance, support, and positive reinforcement to campers to encourage social skills and teamwork
Enforce camp rules and policies to maintain a respectful and safe environment
Support campers with personal needs as required, fostering an inclusive atmosphere
Collaborate with fellow staff members to ensure smooth operation of camp programs
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns

Skills

Approved police record check (with vulnerable sector check)
Strong programming, leadership, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Highly motivated and willing to take initiative while functioning in a team environment.
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Successful candidates must dedicate themselves to this role for up to 10 weeks of programming.

Job Type: Seasonal
Contract length: 10 weeks

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
