Irwin's Safety is Hiring Occupational Health & Safety Consultants

Irwin’s Safety provides the highest standard of full cycle safety services throughout Canada and is recognized as one of the most innovative Occupational Health & Safety companies in Canada

We are seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Consultants to consult with us. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety for our clients. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and implementing effective training programs to mitigate risks. The Safety Consultant will work closely with various clients to develop safety protocols and provide expert guidance on best practices.

We are currently looking for Health and Safety Consultants interested in casual, project-based work, throughout Nova Scotia. The successful candidate must be willing to travel throughout the province in this role. This position is not well suited for individuals with a full-time job.

Qualifications

Possess a CRSP, OHS Diploma, or similar designation
Have at least 10 years direct experience working in OHS
Have experience working with online form building tools
Demonstrated knowledge of Provincial OHS Regulations
Driver's License and own transportation is required

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive safety audits and assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
Develop, implement, and maintain safety training programs tailored to the needs of employees across different departments.
Collaborate with management to create and enforce safety policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Facilitate training sessions on safety practices, emergency response, and equipment handling.
Analyze incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Assist in the fabrication of safety equipment or tools as needed to enhance workplace safety.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.

Experience

Proven experience in a safety consultant role or similar position within a relevant industry.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
Experience in developing training materials and conducting training sessions effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for identifying potential risks in the workplace.
Certification in occupational health and safety or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
