The City of Port Moody has a regular, full-time opportunity for an Operations Maintenance Worker in Roads & Drainage. This position is responsible for tasks in the areas of road maintenance and construction, drainage and flooding and also performs grass cutting, traffic control and emergency call-out services.

The Operations Maintenance Worker will perform the following duties:

Patrol storm inlets;
Control traffic set up and flagging;
Install and maintain signs;
Safe operation of snow plow and snow and ice removal;
Cut grass and sweep;
Operate large and small equipment;
Perform road work; and
Respond to emergency call-outs as well as other special projects and event work.

The Operations Maintenance Worker will require the following qualifications:

Grade 12 graduation;
A valid Class 3 BC driver's license with air endorsement;
Possess minimum one year of labouring experience including machinery operation, truck driving, landscaping, construction, and / or public works;
Experience and training with small equipment such as weed eater, blower, jackhammer, compactor, pumps;
Sufficient physical strength, stamina, and coordination to perform manual work outdoors; and
Ability to work effectively with co-workers and members of the public.

Please note that employment with the City of Port Moody is subject to the receipt of a satisfactory police information check and also a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
