About the Opportunity
A public-sector organization responsible for delivering major transportation infrastructure projects across British Columbia is seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition professional to support hiring during a critical period of project delivery. With complex, large-scale infrastructure work underway, the team needs an experienced recruiter who can quickly understand hiring needs, assess candidates with a critical eye and bring sound judgment to every stage of the recruitment process.
You’ll work closely with hiring managers and project leaders recruiting across project controls, construction, commercial and quality functions. It’s a busy, collaborative, and supportive workplace where people work hard and help one another.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll manage recruitment activities from application review and screening through interviews, references and candidate recommendations.
- You’ll critically assess resumes for employment gaps, unusual career transitions and other areas requiring deeper discussion.
- You’ll conduct concise phone screens covering compensation, eligibility to work in Canada and overall candidate suitability.
- You’ll participate in interviews and help hiring managers identify behavioural concerns, potential risks and overall fit.
- You’ll partner with leaders recruiting for project controls, construction, commercial, quality and other specialized positions.
- You’ll conduct reference checks, escalate concerns when appropriate and provide regular updates on recruitment activity.
- You’ll leverage LinkedIn Recruiter and other channels to support hiring needs where appropriate.
Skills and Qualifications
- 8–10 years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience, with significant experience independently assessing candidates.
- Strong interviewing and screening expertise, including the ability to critically assess candidate fit
- Experience working in a unionized HR environment is an asset, particularly where it has strengthened your employee relations and risk-assessment judgment.
- Experience recruiting within infrastructure, construction, engineering, project controls, commercial or quality environments is considered an asset.
- Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and partnering directly with hiring managers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
