The Grove Home is part of the ARH family and is a 96 bed, recently redeveloped long term care home. We currently have an opportunity for a Temporary Full-Time Food and Environmental Services Manager for 12 months with possible extension. This impactful role reports to Vice President of Seniors Care, Long Term Care & Community Programs and is responsible for ensuring a person-centred care approach in the delivering of food and housekeeping services to the residents we have the privilege to serve.
The incumbent will oversee the daily administration and management of the dietary and housekeeping departments – striving to build an engaging, collaborative team with the focus on positive resident and family outcomes. The manager will carry out the responsibilities for the operations for all areas of food and housekeeping services, as well as human resources, financial management and budgeting.
In carrying out the responsibilities above, and in the interest of resident care, this position will be fully knowledgeable and committed to the understanding and abiding by the corporation’s mission, vision and values while complying with applicable policies/procedures to include but not limited to code of conduct, health and safety, confidentiality/ privacy, risk management and quality improvement.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a recognized Food Services and Nutrition Management program or a member of the College of Dietitians of Canada.
- Good standing with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management is required.
- Minimum five (5) years demonstrated experience in a leadership role, in the health care sector or related services, including experience in a unionized environment.
- Experience in long-term care would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Dietary legislation and food services best practices (in accordance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act (FLTCA) and all applicable legislation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills of applicable health care and infection control standards
- Working Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act.
- Leadership competencies include operations management, managing people related problems, financial management and effective communication.
- Safe Food Handlers’ Certificate an asset
- Certification in WHMIS and JHSC would be an asset.
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
Salary range: $99,274.50 to $111,072.00
