Full job description

ITD is an industry leading manufacturer of transport trailers (vans and chassis) and specialty vehicles (expandable trailers). Our customers include hundreds of independent fleet operators and big-box stores across Canada who trust us with delivering an exceptional product, on time and on budget.

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Mobile Mechanic to join our team. Our Mechanic will responsible for daily and preventative maintenance and complete the required repairs on the trailers. The chosen candidate will provide quality customer service to our drivers, is safety focused,, With the opportunity to evolve into experience with hydrogen fuel cell and electric vehicles.

Key Accountabilities:

Provide onsite repairs
Inspect and diagnose issues quickly and repair immediate need items
Performing general trailer repairs on air brakes and electrical components
Experience with refrigeration is an asset
Conduct daily safety inspections
Outline all parts used and input comments into the work order (complaint, cause and correction) regarding the repair
Inspect entire vehicle and ensure repairs are complete
Notify Supervisor of any additional repairs required
Participate in formal and informal training sessions
Perform other maintenance duties as required
Sign off on safety certifications

Qualifications:

Provincial Ontario 310J or 310T Certification of Qualification (Truck or Trailer) preferred , or interprovincial designation from other province
Registered 310J or 310T with Ontario College of Trades (OCOT) preferred
Prior work experience as a Technician on trailers; truck and/or mobile experience an asset
Prior work experience on temperature controlled (reefer) trailers an asset
Steel / aluminum welding experience (Stick/Mig/Tig) an asset
Valid G-class driver’s license required
Knowledgeable with air brakes and electrical diagnostics
Able to use current technology to ensure vehicle safety and performance
Safety minded
Well-organized, enthusiastic, professional and a positive team member

Willingness to learn new skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
