The Wolfe Pack warriors Foundation is a private family foundation seeking its next Executive Director.
Position Overview
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive and strategic leader of the Foundation, responsible not only for operational excellence but also for guiding the organization into its next phase of growth and institutional maturity.
This role requires a leader who can move seamlessly between execution and strategy—someone who can manage current programs while building the systems, partnerships, and frameworks needed for long-term impact.
Key Accountabilities1. Strategic Leadership, Growth & Governance
· Serve as a strategic advisor to the Board on organizational direction, risk, and emerging philanthropic trends.
· Lead the Foundation’s transition from operational execution to strategic institutional leadership.
· Develop and implement a multi-year strategic plan aligned with mission pillars and growth priorities.
· Strengthen governance maturity through policy development, compliance oversight, and Board engagement.
· Support Board development and succession planning to ensure long-term organizational stability.
2. Impact, Grantmaking & Program Leadership
· Oversee and evolve the Foundation’s grantmaking strategy with a focus on high-impact, mission-aligned initiatives.
· Establish and implement measurable impact frameworks, including metrics related to families supported, programs funded, and community outcomes.
· Ensure clear and compelling communication of impact to the Board, donors, and stakeholders.
· Review Expressions of Interest and proposals; conduct due diligence and present recommendations.
· Build strong relationships with charitable partners and guide collaborative program development.
3. Financial Sustainability & Resource Development
· Develop and manage the annual budget (expenses and donations) in partnership with the Board Chair.
· Lead the development of diversified and sustainable funding strategies, reducing reliance on primary funding sources over time.
· Expand partnership networks, including corporate, community, and philanthropic relationships.
· Ensure disciplined financial stewardship, reporting, and audit readiness.
4. Operational Excellence & Organizational Development
· Direct day-to-day operations while building scalable systems and processes to support growth.
· Strengthen internal infrastructure, including data tracking, reporting systems, and administrative controls.
· Ensure all records, financials, and organizational assets are secure and well-managed.
· Balance hands-on execution with long-term capacity building.
5. Leadership & Culture
· Lead, mentor, and develop staff and volunteers, fostering a high-performance, mission-driven culture.
· Encourage collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Support team development aligned with the Foundation’s increasing strategic complexity.
6. External Relations, Brand & Advocacy
· Serve as the Foundation’s primary spokesperson and ambassador.
· Expand the Foundation’s brand presence within Alberta’s nonprofit ecosystem.
· Strengthen relationships with charities, donors, and community stakeholders.
· Oversee communications and marketing strategies to amplify impact and visibility.
7. Risk Management & Compliance
· Identify and manage organizational risks, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.
· Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
· Implement appropriate controls and keep the Board informed of key risks and opportunities.
