Raise is currently hiring an SAP Functional Analyst – Human Resources contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Senior SAP Human Resources Functional Analyst in this role will be a functional specialist responsible for designing, validating, and enabling SAP S/4HANA-based HR processes that align business objectives with SAP standard capabilities.
Serving as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, you will ensure end-to-end HR processes are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and rigidly aligned with clean-core principles. Beyond S/4HANA, you will leverage deep familiarity with integrated platforms—specifically Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, and SAP Fieldglass—to optimize how they interact with the S/4HANA Core.

Accountabilities

Functional Design & SAP Enablement
-
Guide the design and validation of SAP S/4HANA HR processes to ensure alignment with business objectives and SAP standard capabilities.

Provide functional oversight and guidance for assigned HR domains in the SAP landscape, translating complex business requirements into fit-to-standard SAP designs.

Identify process inefficiencies and recommend SAP-enabled improvements that support simplification, standardization, and automation.

Fit-to-Standard & Clean Core Execution
-
Facilitate and lead fit-to-standard workshops, confirming where SAP standard is adopted and documenting justified deviations.

Evaluate functional gaps and recommend appropriate solutions (configuration, standard extensions, or governed customizations) in alignment with Clean Core principles.

Ensure HR designs remain upgrade-safe, scalable, and support long-term operability.

Cross-Functional & Integration Collaboration
-
Collaborate with project functional and technical teams to ensure end-to-end process alignment.

Validate and confirm HR integration requirements with upstream and downstream systems (SAP HR, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Fieldglass, and analytics platforms).

Partner with system integrators to review and approve functional designs and ensure quality delivery.

Governance, Scope & Risk Management

Support functional decision-making within SAP Plus governance, escalating decisions as required based on scope, risk, or cross-functional impact.

Manage HR requirements and scope boundaries to reduce delivery risk, late design changes, and functional impacts.

Own key decisions regarding standard vs. custom extensions, integration optimization, and process deviation due to regulatory/strategic risks.

Testing, Data & Deployment Readiness

Define and support functional test scenarios to ensure coverage of real-world HR operations across key systems like SAP HR and Workday.

Validate HR master and transactional data readiness, working with data owners to address data integrity, test completion, cutover preparedness, and operational support models.

Business Adoption & Sustainment
-
Contribute to training and change enablement activities to support the adoption of new HR processes and tools.

Act as a trusted advisor during the transition to operations, ensuring a stable day-one go-live and post-go-live stabilization.
Qualifications
-
8+ years of dedicated SAP HR experience, including participation in at least one major ERP implementation/transformation alongside substantial IS Support and Enhancement work.

Functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA Human Resources, specializing in SAP HR integrations with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Fieldglass, and HR Data analytics.

Strong understanding of end-to-end HR processes, including pay, compensation, time management, and the worker lifecycle (hire-to-retire).

Proven ability to apply fit-to-standard and clean core principles, minimizing customizations to support long-term SAP upgradeability.

Solid understanding of master data and transactional data critical to HR operations, alongside familiarity with SAP reporting landscapes (embedded analytics, BDC).

Strong experience guiding fit-to-standard workshops and translating business objectives into implementable functional designs for technical teams and system integrators.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence business, technical, and leadership audiences.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills within structured governance and regulatory frameworks.

Ability to balance delivery speed, risk management, and business value realization in large enterprise programs.

Education and Certifications
-
University degree in Human Resources, Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

HR / ERP: SAP HCM Core, SAP HCM Payroll, Workday HCM Core, Workday Pro HCM, or SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central. (Preferred)

Delivery: Testing or delivery certifications such as ISTQB, PMP, or Agile/Scrum. (Preferred)
