Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are seeking a Director, Systems to join our Rapid Transit Operations department!
What will I be doing?
- Provide strategic technical oversight across in-service and in-flight Rapid Transit projects, from design through commissioning and operations.
- Lead technical change management, including scope development, technical reviews, variations, and No-Objection decisions.
- Lead Systems Working Groups and coordinate changes across ATS, S&TCS, SCADA, I&IT, cybersecurity, and other operational systems.
- Assess technical changes for system integration, operational, safety, maintainability, configuration, and lifecycle impacts.
- Provide technical leadership for system-performance improvements, investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex technical and interface issues.
- Lead the development and governance of Rapid Transit technical standards, design requirements, and lessons learned.
- Apply operating-line experience to in-flight and future projects and escalate significant technical risks, deficiencies, and departures from requirements.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Completion of a degree in Engineering/Architecture or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
Demonstrated years' of progressive experience in capital project management and implementation, including at least five years of experience managing large, complex, multi-year transit projects
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario or Architect (O.A.A) in the Province of Ontario is an asset
A valid Class “G” driver’s license is required
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly desired
