Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a veterinary technician (either fully licensed or experienced) to join our team! The position will be full time (40 hours) with some evenings and weekends. Our clinic is considered a lower stress environment which allows us to spend more time with client care as well as give extra attention to detail. We work together to be supportive and give as much flexibility as possible with scheduling as well as share duties and tasks as fairly as possible.

We have a uniform allowance, shared medical/dental plans, some flexibility with scheduling, possibility of brining a pet to work, staff discounts, limited paid Continuing Education events and strive for a healthy work environment.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures with precision and care
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
Collect and process laboratory samples, perform diagnostic tests, and record results accurately
Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures
Provide compassionate care and support to hospitalized animals, including feeding, cleaning, and comfort measures
Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and preventive health practices
Maintain clean and organized treatment areas, surgical suites, and laboratory spaces
Keep detailed records of patient histories, treatments, and laboratory results in compliance with clinic protocols

Qualifications

Valid Veterinary Technician license or certification required
Laboratory experience is highly desirable to efficiently perform diagnostic testing and sample processing
Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Compassionate attitude with a genuine love for animals and their well-being
Prior experience in a veterinary setting
