Overview
As a Journeyman at Paris Mechanical, you are a master of your craft, responsible for the expert installation, maintenance, and design of plumbing and HVAC systems. In this role, you will refine your leadership skills, manage tasks with precision, and prepare for future opportunities as a Foreman, all while delivering high-quality results that contribute to our mission of creating exceptional indoor environments.
Actions & Responsibilities
Master Installation & Execution
- Execute complex installations and designs in compliance with mechanical codes and project specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, ensuring all systems function to the highest standard.
- Take ownership of job site organization, including proper tool use, maintenance, and material management.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Act as a mentor to Apprentices, providing hands-on training, guidance, and constructive feedback.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Assign tasks to Apprentices and ensure their work meets company and industry standards.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate directly with Foremen, Project Managers, and other trades to ensure tasks align with project schedules and milestones.
- Adapt workflows and make informed decisions to overcome on-site challenges, maintaining project efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with clients, builders, and supervisors, documenting progress and ensuring alignment on scope and expectations.
Safety & Quality Control
- Enforce safety protocols on-site, addressing hazards proactively and maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Conduct quality checks to uphold Paris Mechanical’s reputation for excellence.
- Ensure all installations meet or exceed industry standards, minimizing rework and maximizing efficiency.
Authority
Decision-Making
- Exercise decision-making authority for day-to-day operations on-site, particularly when acting as the most senior team member.
- Develop solutions for technical challenges in real time, consulting Foremen or Project Managers as needed.
Procurement
- Approve and procure tools or supplies under $500 to maintain workflow and meet immediate project needs.
- Monitor and track expenses for minor materials and ensure timely reporting to supervisors.
Team Leadership
- Guide Apprentices through hands-on mentorship, delegating tasks based on skill level and project requirements.
- Ensure team productivity by aligning tasks with project objectives and promoting accountability.
- Track apprentice hours and lead productivity initiatives alongside Foreman for active projects.

Work Quality & Efficiency
- Deliver high-quality work that meets or exceeds project timelines and budgets.
- Take responsibility for ensuring all installations comply with blueprints, codes, and client expectations.
Professional Growth
- Develop leadership and management skills in preparation for future advancement to a Foreman role.
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and codes to maintain expertise and support company innovation.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proficient in basic math for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to plumbing systems.
- Experience with heavy lifting as required during installations or repairs.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and team members.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in reading schematics related to plumbing layouts is highly desirable.
