Full job description

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care to individuals in their private homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the well-being and independence of clients, especially those with special needs such as seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those experiencing dementia. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized care and support.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Administer medications safely and according to care plans
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements
Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing the living environment
Support clients with mobility exercises and physical activities as needed
Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
Assist with toileting, incontinence care, and other personal hygiene needs
Follow care plans accurately and document care provided appropriately

Qualifications

Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments preferred
Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor
Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation efficiently
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Proficient in English Language a must.
Valid certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent is preferred.
Must have valid first aid and CPR
Clean Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
Must be reliable, flexible, and committed to providing respectful and dignified care
Must be willing and able to travel up to 30 minutes outside of Woodstock.

Pay: $18.75-$21.23 per hour
