Reporting to the Business Technology Manager, the Operations Assistant - Information Technology provides administrative, technical and coordination support for organization-wide technology operations. The role supports day-to-day user service, account and device administration, system monitoring, documentation, security practices, technology inventory, vendor coordination and technology projects so that systems remain reliable, secure and responsive to operational needs.
The following traits and qualifications are required:
Post-secondary education in business, office administration or a related discipline is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Administrative or coordination experience in a professional office environment is required.
Experience providing administrative support with a proven ability to seamlessly support remote team members and coordinate operations across multiple geographic locations is a strong asset.
A proven ability to navigate and collaborate with regional, provincial, and federal government entities is a strong asset.
Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, electronic spreadsheets, shared drives/cloud environments and electronic file management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, service-oriented approach.
Excellent organization, time-management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
Keen attention to detail, resourcefulness, flexibility and the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information.
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education and continuous improvement.
Experience using IT ticketing systems or helpdesk software (e.g., Jira, Zendesk, Spiceworks, ServiceNow) to track, prioritize, and document user requests is a strong asset. Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting in a multi-site environment is an asset.
Experience providing coordination support for technology deployments, system upgrades, or software implementations is an asset.
Working knowledge of cloud administration, Google Workspace, endpoint/device management, networking/Wi-Fi, cybersecurity practices, SaaS administration and electronic document systems is an asset.
Foundational IT certifications (such as the Google IT Support Professional Certificate, CompTIA A+, or ITIL Foundation) are considered a strong asset.
A demonstrated ability to translate and explain complex technical information clearly to users with varying levels of technical knowledge, maintaining a patient and customer-focused approach.
