Overview

Moffatt's Mazda is looking for an experienced and motivated Used Car Sales Manager to join our team. Your leadership will inspire your team to achieve sales targets through strategic planning, effective negotiation, and outstanding communication skills.

Please read the qualifications carefully before applying. Previous automotive sales management experience is required for this position. Only candidates with relevant dealership sales management experience will be selected for an interview.

Duties

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pre-owned vehicle department
Manage used vehicle inventory, including purchasing, appraisals, pricing, merchandising, and aging
Appraise customer trade-ins accurately and competitively
Monitor market trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly
Work closely with the sales team to structure deals and support closing opportunities
Coach, motivate, and support sales consultants to achieve individual and department goals
Ensure vehicles are properly prepared, photographed, priced, and advertised
Monitor sales performance, inventory turn, gross profit, and other key department metrics
Develop strategies to increase used vehicle sales and profitability
Maintain a strong understanding of available inventory and competing vehicles in the local market
Build positive relationships with customers and help resolve concerns when needed
Work closely with the Finance, Service, and New Vehicle departments to ensure a smooth customer experience
Maintain dealership standards and ensure all sales activities comply with OMVIC regulations and dealership policies

Qualifications

Proven experience in dealership or retail automotive sales management, particularly with used cars.
Strong background in outside sales, B2B sales, negotiation, and upselling techniques.
Strong knowledge of used vehicle appraisals, inventory management, and pricing
Valid OMVIC certification
Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership sales
Proven ability to motivate and develop a sales team
Comfortable working with dealership management systems and online automotive marketplaces
Valid Ontario driver's license and clean driving record
