Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site IT & VoIP Field Technician role based in Richmond Hill, ON. The technician will visit client locations to install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, printers, network devices, and VoIP phone systems. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues, performing computer and printer repairs, and escalating complex problems when needed. The role also involves setting up workstations, upgrading equipment, documenting work performed, and ensuring minimal downtime for clients. The technician will interact directly with end users, provide clear technical explanations, and deliver professional, customer-focused service in the field.
Qualifications
- Strong end-user support skills, including Technical Support, Troubleshooting, and customer service abilities.
- Hands-on experience with Desktop Computers, including setup, configuration, operating system installation, and basic networking.
- Proficiency in Printer Support, including installation, configuration, and routine maintenance.
- Demonstrated capability in Computer Repair, including diagnosing and replacing hardware components and resolving performance issues.
- Experience with VoIP systems or IP-based telephony (installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting) is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, basic networking (TCP/IP, switches, routers), and remote support tools.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language to non-technical users.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites in the Richmond Hill and surrounding area.
- Relevant technical diploma, certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+), or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently on-site, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple service calls.
- Richmond Hill, Thornhill and Greater Toronto Area (field-based)
- Full Time- 40 hours/week
- 3-month probationary period
