Position: Custodial Services Training Program Teacher

Dates: November 10, 2025 to January 22, 2026 (Monday-Friday - 8:30 am to 1:30 pm)

Location: Giffard Centre, 1003 Giffard Street, Whitby, L1N 2S3

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Certificate of Qualification - Certificate of Qualification (must be in good standing)
Teaching Experience in Technological Education

Desired:

Formal Training and/or Experience in Teaching Adults in an Educational Setting
Custodial Experience
Current Health and Safety Certifications

Responsibilities:

In-school training November 10, 2025, to January 22, 2026 (Monday to Friday 5 hours per day, 5 days per week).

The instructor/coordinator is expected to deliver both the theoretical and practical components of the program.

THEORY

Deliver the Custodial Services Emphasis Course, Technological Education curriculum and the Custodial Services Training Curriculum with a focus on safety practices
Provide appropriate assessments and evaluations pertaining to the curriculum
Monitor students’ progress in the course and provide timely and descriptive feedback

PRACTICAL

Coordinate program safety certifications and guest speakers
Coordinate cooperative education placements for students registered in the program

Rate of Pay:

Will be paid according to the Continuing Education hourly rate, $57.84/hour, as per the current collective agreement for each designated day of the program.
