Job Title: CNC Programmer & Operator
Reporting to: Special Project Manager
Location: Greater Toronto Area
General Duties:
To support Tooling and Production Team to produce high quality Tooling and Fixtures by Programming, set-up and operation of CNC Machinery. Willingness to wear multiple hats and be a team player in a fast-paced start-up environment. This is Salary Position Located in Concord.
Responsibilities:
- Determining the machining strategies and generating CNC programs, machining setup sheets, and tool lists for Multi axis machines
- Maintaining the continuous process improvement to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase throughput
- Select, pre-set and adjust settings needed for optimal speed and tolerances
- Ensure effective production of quality parts by completing final checks using gauges and measuring equipment
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other instructions
· Maintain shop equipment to ensure they are working safely and per manufacturer specification
· Assist with product development activities including sample making
· Works on special projects as directed by the management team.
· Contributes to team effort by taking on added tasks as required.
· Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of all data
· Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety meetings
· Lead and maintain a safe, secure, enjoyable professional working environment.
Qualifications:
· College Diploma or Engineering degree in Technical discipline
· Minimum 3 years’ Experience in 3D Machining, programming and Set up for 5 Axis Machines
· Minimum 3 Years Experience with Cam software like Mastercam, Cimitron or Surfcam
· Experience in Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing
· Experience operating Manual Mill and Lathe will be an asset
· Experience in reading and interpreting Engineering drawings
· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and organizational skills
· Ability to lift and maneuver heavy weights
· Attention to details and reporting activities
· Self-motivating with a positive attitude
· Ability to work independently and problem solve
Typical working conditions:
· Schedule may change depending on business requirements. Monday to Friday days or afternoon, or Continental day shift.
· Manufacturing plant with continuous interaction on manufacturing floor where PPE is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
