Consider this challenging opportunity in the Superior Court of Justice, where you will assist in coordinating and scheduling cases in criminal, civil and family courts.

About the job

Your responsibilities will include:

assisting the Trial Coordinator in maintaining court lists utilizing established scheduling practices
liaising with Trial Coordinators, judiciary, counsel, other staff, and the public regarding the scheduling of matters
identifying and bringing issues that may affect the schedule to the attention of the Trial Coordinator(s)
assisting in the preparation of statistical information

What you bring to the team

Qualifications:

You have organizational, coordination and planning skills to assist with the scheduling of court sittings
You have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
You have judgement and problem-solving skills
You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
You have analytical skills to assist with the compilation of statistical data
You have communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with tact and diplomacy with judges, staff, counsel and the public
You have knowledge of the functions and rules of the Superior and/or Ontario Court of Justice, relevant legislation and legal terminology
You are proficient with computer applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, email, Internet and management information systems)
