Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service and ensure smooth operations at our retail location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, handling transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the station. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Duties

Greet customers, answer questions, assist with fueling, and provide general customer support.
Process customer payments including cash, debit/credit cards, and mobile payments.
Clean fuel pumps, fuel islands, restrooms, convenience store areas, and maintain overall site cleanliness.
Restock convenience store merchandise including snacks, drinks, and other inventory items.
Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies are low.
Update fuel price displays and ensure pump pricing accuracy.
Keep records of fuel sales, transactions, and inventory levels.
Operate fuel pumps safely, including handling different fuel types and monitoring underground storage tanks.
Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and operational standards.
Respond appropriately to emergencies such as fuel spills, fires, or medical incidents while following safety protocols and using required safety equipment.

Skills

Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus
Customer service experience with a friendly, professional demeanor
Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
Familiarity with POS systems and retail sales procedures
Organizational skills to manage time effectively during busy periods
Ability to perform merchandising tasks efficiently and maintain cleanliness standards
Upselling skills to increase sales of store products
Knowledge of technology sales or product demos is advantageous but not required
Multilingual abilities can enhance customer interactions in diverse communities
Excellent phone etiquette for remote assistance or inquiries
Time management skills to prioritize tasks during shift hours
