Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are currently seeking two (2) Streetcar Services Attendants to join the Streetcar Maintenance Department. The positions involve working mainly Night Shifts (11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) and will normally be performed at Streetcar Facilities within the City of Toronto. There are two Night Shift positions available: one with Wednesday and Thursday as scheduled days off, and one with Friday and Saturday as scheduled days off.
This position requires the successful candidates to remain in the position for a period of two years before being eligible for any other positions within the TTC.

What You Will Do
- Responsible to perform pre-service check procedures to vehicles, which includes actuating the proper switches and controls for communications systems, doors, lights, brakes, and other related equipment/systems for correct operation; replenishing fluid levels, keeping records of vehicle defects and report them as required.
- Perform interior and exterior cleaning of vehicles using a variety of cleaning equipment (e.g. mops, scrubbers, spray applicators, and etc.); disinfecting of unsanitary vehicles and biohazard cleaning; passenger seat replacement; removal of graffiti and stains, pick up litter and loose garbage and install TTC media and/or supplies.
- Clean and maintain upkeep of carhouses, which includes fill sandboxes, clean carhouse floors, pits, washrooms and lunchrooms; turn track and overhead switches to divert cars to proper storage track, and shovel snow in yard; apply sand, salt yard areas, and clean snow from lifeguard cradles.
- Treat passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensures the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (within the area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service provider and an employer.
What Skills and Qualifications Do You Bring
- Education and training will consist of a completed Grade 10 education.
- Abilities to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must successfully complete the Streetcar / Subway Rule Book training course and pass the written and practical tests involved.
