As an MEP Content Creator (Autodesk Fabrication .ITM Specialist), you will:
· Be responsible for Database Management: Structure and maintain the company's Autodesk Fabrication Database (ITM libraries), ensuring consistent button mappings, service templates, pressure classes, and connector definitions.
· You will convert manufacturer catalog specifications, submittals, and CAD/BIM geometries into fully parametric, dimensionally accurate, fabrication-ready .ITM parts for use in Autodesk Revit, Fabrication CADmep, ESTmep, and CAMduct.
· Be responsible for Revit & CADmep Integration: Test and validate .ITM content within Revit (Design-to-Fabrication conversions) and CADmep to ensure proper connectivity, routing, and spooling capabilities.
· You will Standardize & QA/QC: Establish and enforce naming conventions, database standards, cost codes, pricing, and labor rates across the .ITM library.
· Oversee troubleshooting & support: Assist VDC detailers, estimators, and shop fabrication teams by resolving database errors, broken connections, or missing content.
· Scripting & Automation (Bonus): Utilize COD scripts, LISP, or Dynamo to automate content creation and database maintenance tasks where applicable.
As an MEP Content Creator (Autodesk Fabrication .ITM Specialist), you must have:
· Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience creating and managing Autodesk Fabrication .ITM libraries / databases.
· Prior trade experience in mechanical piping, plumbing, or prefabrication detailing.
Software Proficiency:
- Autodesk Fabrication CADmep / ESTmep / CAMduct
- Autodesk Revit (Fabrication Parts / MEP modeling)
- Fabrication Item Editor / MakeItm tools
· Experience converting Revit Families (.RFA) or manufacturer STEP Files to Fabrication Parts (.ITM).
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Plumbing systems.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret manufacturer submittals, cut sheets, and technical BIM/CAD drawings.
Attention to Detail: High precision in entering dimensional data, connector offsets, and metadata.
