King Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dependable Animal Care Attendant to join our Patient Care team on overnight shifts.
In this role, you will help care for hospitalized patients recovering from surgery, anesthesia, illness, and injury. Working alongside Veterinary Specialists, Veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technicians, and experienced support staff, you will play an important role in ensuring our patients remain comfortable, safe, and closely monitored throughout the night.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on animal care, wants to continue learning, and takes pride in being part of a team that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families.
Compensation
- Base wage: $19.00–$22.00 per hour
- Overnight premium: $1.00 per hour
Total overnight earnings: $20.00–$23.00 per hour

Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care and comfort to hospitalized patients overnight
- Feed, water, walk, and monitor patients according to established treatment plans
- Observe and report changes in patient behaviour, comfort, or condition
- Assist veterinary staff with patient handling and restraint
- Support the care of post-operative and recovering patients
- Record observations accurately in electronic patient records
- Clean and disinfect patient areas, kennels, treatment spaces, dishes, and laundry according to hospital protocols
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming hospital environment
- Provide enrichment and comfort for patients during their hospital stay
What We’re Looking For
- ACA certification or equivalent animal care experience
- Minimum one year of experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, shelter, boarding facility, or similar animal care environment
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to animal care
- Strong observation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly during overnight shifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically active work
- Desire to learn and contribute to a collaborative veterinary team
- Referral, emergency, surgery, or specialty hospital experience is considered an asset
Schedule & Location
This is a permanent overnight position.
The schedule is 9:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday to Thursday.
Because King Animal Hospital is located in King City and is not accessible by public transit, applicants must have reliable personal transportation.
