Job Summary

CNC-milled products from aircraft-grade aluminum for the utility and underground construction industries. About the Role We're looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to set up, program, and operate CNC turning centers producing precision aluminum components. You'll work with aircraft-grade materials to tight tolerances in a quality-driven ISO 9001:2015 environment.

What You'll Do

· Set up and operate CNC lathes and turning centers (2-3 axis)

· Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications

· Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments

· Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and toolpaths for aluminum machining

· Edit and optimize CNC programs at the machine as needed

· Monitor tool wear and replace inserts/tooling to maintain part quality

· Maintain tight tolerances on precision components

· Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized

· Document production data and quality records per ISO 9001:2015 requirements

· Collaborate with quality and engineering teams on process improvements

What You Bring

· 3+ years of CNC lathe/turning center experience

· Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T

· Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMM experience an asset)

· Working knowledge of G-code; ability to edit programs at the control

· Experience machining aluminum is a strong asset

· Strng attention to detail and commitment to quality

· Trade certification (Red Seal Machinist) or equivalent experience preferred

· Familiarity with Fanuc or similar CNC controls

Qualifications

Proven experience operating CNC lathe and milling machines in a manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Proficiency in CNC programming using Fanuc or Mazatrol control systems
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or general blueprint reading skills
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes
Experience with machining tools including calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklifts
Knowledge of manufacturing best practices including lean manufacturing principles
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
