The Innovation & Continuous Improvement team within the Business Optimization & Insights branch supports this vision by advancing Lean practices, innovation, and evidence-based improvements that strengthen programs, services, and organizational performance.
The Innovation & Continuous Improvement team is seeking a Senior Advisor, Continuous Improvement to lead medium- to large-scale process and policy improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Manager, Innovation & Continuous Improvement, you will apply Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to identify efficiencies, improve service delivery, measure outcomes, and support sustainable organizational change.
As a trusted advisor and change champion, you will work across teams to evaluate processes, develop integrated solutions, reduce operational burden, optimize delivery and embed continuous improvement practices. What You Will Do:
Lead Lean and Process Improvement Initiatives
- Lead the delivery of medium- to large-scale business process, procedure, and policy optimization projects using Lean and DMAIC methodologies.
- Collaborate in nimble teams with business leaders to identify and scope impactful process improvement initiatives / opportunities relevant to current and developing strategic and operational priorities.
- Define project objectives, scope, and success measures; identify value and improvement opportunities; conduct root-cause and risk analysis; and develop actionable implementation and experimentation plans.
- Analyze complex qualitative and quantitative information to generate evidence-based recommendations that enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and innovation.
Advisory, Consultation, and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to business areas by leading consultations to evaluate, improve, or design new processes to ensure that they reflect Lean principles.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships to support internally generated ideas, secure buy-in, and enable testing and implementation of new practices.
- Respond to ad hoc requests as a subject matter expert and thought leader on Lean and continuous improvement.
Build Lean Capability and Enable Delivery
- Leverage expert knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement to design and deliver training and capability-building sessions.
- Support the scaling of Lean knowledge and practices across the organization through hands-on coaching and project support.
- Collaborate with product and delivery leaders to ensure enhancement planning and implementation reflect Lean principles.
You Have:
- Lean certification at the Black Belt or Green Belt level, with demonstrated application of Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies in complex organizational environments.
- University degree in Business Analysis, Analytics, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience that demonstrates advanced analytical, critical-thinking, and strategic problem-solving capability.
- Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience leading or supporting business process improvement initiatives, including Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and/or Business Process Management (BPM).
- Advanced expertise in process improvement and analysis, including process mapping, re-engineering, optimization, root-cause analysis, and the application of recognized frameworks and methodologies (e.g., BABOK).
- Strong analytical and reporting capability, with experience analyzing complex information, applying quantitative and qualitative methods, and producing evidence-based insights to inform decision-making.
- Demonstrated leadership and facilitation experience, including designing and facilitating stakeholder workshops, leading cross-functional teams, securing buy-in, resolving issues, and building consensus.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex analyses clearly, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Proven organizational and delivery skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet time-sensitive deadlines, and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and the ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.
