Finance Associate

Position Type: Permanent/Full-time

Location: North York, ON (2 days a week on-site)

Compensation: $55,000 to $65,000+/Annually + Vacation + Benefits

We are partnering with our client, a leading IT Consulting Firm to recruit a Finance Associate. Reporting directly to the Controller, this multifaceted role combines full-cycle bookkeeping, day-to-day financial operations, and essential contract administration. The ideal candidate is a tech-savvy self-starter who delivers superior accuracy, thrives under tight deadlines, and maintains the highest standards of confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage daily AR/AP functions, process collections, oversee vendor/contractor payments, and execute bank and credit card reconciliations using QuickBooks Online.
Payroll & Remittances: Prepare biweekly employee payroll and assist with monthly tax filings and compliance remittances.
Contractor & Expense Tracking: Reconcile contractor invoices against timesheets, audit employee expenses, and handle routine follow-ups via email and phone.
Documentation & Legal Support: Process financial documents (invoices, POs), assist the sales team with client licensing quotes, and facilitate the execution of legal agreements (SOWs, NDAs, MSAs) with the legal team.
Reporting & Projects: Support financial reporting efforts and contribute to ad hoc finance operations and operational projects as needed.

Qualifications

Experience & Education: Strong background in corporate AR/AP and full-cycle bookkeeping; a degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance is an asset.
Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
Industry Background: Prior experience in consulting or a service-based industry is highly desirable.
Speed & Responsiveness: Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency, accustomed to a 24-hour or less turnaround time on new requests.
Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset for partnering with internal teams, and absolute discretion with sensitive data.
Adaptability: A self-motivated professional who learns new software quickly and operates independently in an ever-changing environment.

The indicated pay range is a good‑faith estimate based on required qualifications, experience, training, and other factors permitted by law. It reflects the pay band established by the client company. Actual offers may vary depending on skills, experience, geographic location, and expected work quality.
