Job Description
We are looking for an Installation Technician for our Media Division. Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, timely, and high-quality installation of digital media and signage solutions at client locations. This includes installing LED displays, video walls, digital kiosks, projection systems, and related AV hardware, ensuring they meet design specifications and function seamlessly. The technician will work closely with project managers, creative teams, and clients to deliver exceptional results that reflect ICON’s high standards of innovation and design excellence. This individual must be able to work overnight hours on an occasional basis and will be servicing clients mainly located in the GTA.
Primary Responsibilities
Duties would include but not limited to:
- Install and configure digital signage hardware, displays, media players, control systems, and related network infrastructure.
- Conduct on-site assessments and collaborate with project managers to verify site readiness and installation requirements.
- Mount and align screens, LED panels, and projection equipment to precise specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software integration issues on-site.
- Ensure all wiring and equipment setups follow safety, electrical, and building code standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of installation progress, configurations, and service issues.
- Coordinate with creative and content teams to test and verify correct media playback.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on existing installations as needed.
- Represent ICON professionally while interacting with clients and partners on job sites.
- Travel to various client locations across regions/countries as required.
Job Requirements
- Training with scissor lifts and boom lifts (preferred)
- Working at Heights training (preferred)
- A+ certification considered an asset
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in AV, digital signage, or media installation preferred.
- Knowledge of LED displays, projection systems, media players (Bright Sign, etc.), and control software.
- Familiarity with networking (basic IP addressing, LAN setup) and cabling standards (HDMI, CAT6, SDI, etc.).
- Working knowledge of hand/power tools and safe rigging/mounting practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team under tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Valid G driver’s license; ability to travel and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when needed.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, work at heights, and operate lifts/scaffolding.

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
