Job Summary

Holiday in the Hills, a family-focused Christmas festival in Orono, Ontario, is looking for a Digital Marketing Intern to join our team and help bring a little more Christmas magic to the internet - and our community!

Are you passionate about Christmas, events, social media, digital marketing and creating content that people actually want to see? Do you love coming up with ideas, figuring out what makes people click, and watching a campaign come to life?

As our Digital Marketing Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience working on the digital marketing behind a real, growing Christmas event. You’ll help us reach families across the GTA, promote ticket sales, create engaging content, work with digital advertising, update our website, and help build the excitement leading up to the festival.

This is a paid, hands-on internship where you won’t just be watching from the sidelines. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, work on real campaigns, see the results of your work and gain practical experience in event marketing, social media, digital advertising, content creation and e-commerce.

And yes… there will probably be a lot of Christmas music involved.

Responsibilities

Assist with developing and executing digital marketing campaigns leading up to and during Holiday in the Hills.
Help manage and create content for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
Assist with creating engaging graphics, reels, videos, stories and other visual content that captures the Holiday in the Hills experience.
Help develop campaigns designed to increase ticket sales, website traffic and overall event awareness.
Assist with Meta/Facebook and Google advertising, including monitoring campaigns, audiences and performance.
Help research and identify opportunities to reach our target audience of families and parents across the GTA.
Assist with email marketing, including newsletters, promotions and event updates.
Keep our website content up to date, including event information, activities, ticketing information and seasonal updates.
Assist with SEO, keyword research and optimizing website content.
Use analytics and reporting tools to track website traffic, advertising performance and campaign results.
Help brainstorm new and creative ways to generate excitement around the festival.
Assist with influencer/content creator outreach and coordination.
Work closely with the event and marketing team on seasonal promotions, giveaways, contests and special campaigns.
Help maintain organized records of campaigns, content and marketing results.
Bring ideas! We’re a small team, so we love people who are willing to speak up, try something new and think outside the box.

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a program in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Media, or a related field.
Passionate about digital marketing, social media and event marketing.
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable working with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
Familiarity with digital advertising platforms such as Meta Ads Manager and/or Google Ads is an asset.
Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut or similar creative tools is an asset.
Basic understanding of SEO, website analytics and email marketing is an asset.
Creative, organized and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Willingness to learn and take initiative.
Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team environment where priorities can change quickly.
Most importantly, you should be someone who is excited about Christmas, family events and creating experiences people want to come back to year after year.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
