About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a results-oriented individual to contribute to our growth and take on increasing responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Develop and maintain comprehensive financial reporting packages for management and the Board of Directors.
Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
Prepare and analyze margin by product types, items, and customer.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Variance Analysis:
Lead the annual budgeting process and develop accurate financial forecasts.
Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, and provide detailed variance analysis.
Develop and implement strategies to improve forecasting accuracy and financial performance.
Excellent financial modeling, data, and Excel skills.
Cash Flow Management:
Manage and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity and optimize working capital.
Develop and maintain effective cash management strategies.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, including income tax, HST, and other regulatory requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Manage relationships with external auditors and oversee the annual audit process.
Experience overseeing payroll and related compliance.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor a team of two accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Demonstrate the ability to scale the finance department for growth by redesigning processes, automating workflows, and leveraging new technologies.
Process Improvement & Technology Adoption:
Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial processes and increase efficiency.
Evaluate and implement new financial technologies to automate tasks and enhance reporting capabilities.
Question the status quo and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Developing robust processes and documentation for business continuity.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with department leaders to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
Communicate financial information effectively to all stakeholders.
Ad Hoc Analysis:
Analysis support for ad hoc matters such as business expansion, investments, and M&A opportunities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
Excellent financial modeling, data, and Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software.
Experience with SAP a requirement.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong desire to learn new technologies and improve processes.
Proven ability to roll up his sleeves and get into the details of the work.
