About this role
MGB Building Group delivers high-end custom homes and complex residential renovations across Toronto and the GTA. We're looking for a seasoned Construction Project Manager who has owned residential projects from pre-construction through final inspection — someone with a real track record on custom new builds, large-scale renovations, and additions, including work on older Toronto-area homes.
This is a senior role with full accountability. You'll manage budgets, schedules, trades, and client relationships across multiple active job sites simultaneously. We're not looking for someone who coordinates from behind a desk — you'll be on-site regularly and expected to lead with authority. If your background is primarily commercial construction, or you haven't held the PM title before, this role is likely not the right fit.
Who this is for: A construction PM with 10–15+ years of residential experience who can point to completed custom homes and major renovations they personally managed — with full control over budget, schedule, trade coordination, and client communication from day one to handoff.
What you'll own
- Full lifecycle management of multiple residential projects — from pre-construction planning through to final inspection and client handoff
- Budget oversight and cost control: track labor, materials, and change orders; flag variances before they become problems
- Schedule creation and enforcement: plan and book trade activities a minimum of two weeks in advance; hold trades accountable to timelines
- Site leadership: conduct regular site visits (2–3x/week minimum), complete pre-construction reviews, lead site meetings, and submit daily logs via BuilderTrend
- Trade and supplier coordination: ensure materials, tools, and crews are aligned — work closely with the internal project coordinator on procurement and deliveries
- Client communication: deliver clear, proactive updates and manage expectations throughout the build with professionalism
- Documentation and compliance: maintain change orders, contracts, incident reports, financial paperwork, and all project records to MGB standards
- Quality and safety oversight: enforce standards on-site, investigate near-misses, and ensure every project meets Ontario Building Code requirements
- Bridge office and field: keep both teams aligned with accurate, timely information at every project stage
What we're looking for
- 10–15+ years of residential construction experience, with the PM title held for a meaningful portion of that time
- Direct, hands-on experience managing custom home builds, large renovations, and additions — including projects on older Toronto-area homes
- Demonstrated ownership of full project lifecycles: budgets, schedules, trades, quality, and client relationships
- Proven ability to run multiple job sites concurrently without losing grip on any of them
- Strong command of construction drawings, engineering documents, and residential building methods
- Proficiency with BuilderTrend or comparable construction management software
- Exceptional organizational skills and a proactive communication style — you surface problems early, not after they've escalated
- Valid G-class driver's licence and reliable vehicle — you'll be driving between job sites regularly throughout the day, required
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Construction Management or a related field is preferred
Compensation
$100,000 – $150,000 Annual salary based on experience.
Full-time, permanent position.
