D&R Custom Steel Fabrication is a trusted provider of stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty or exotic metal alloy equipment. * This is an entry level position and ideally best suited for someone looking to get into the welding/fabricating trades. This position requires a high level of repetitive manual physical labour.*
The set hours for this day shift position is: 7:30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday; 7:30am - 3pm Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Clean welds, rust and sharp edges using hand grinders, die grinders, etc..
- Move material using overhead cranes.
- Acid wash steel structures.
- Drill holes using hand drills and drill press.
- Punch holes using iron worker.
- Shop and yard maintenance.
- Ensure and support safe work environment and practices through good housekeeping and following all safety procedures according to Ministry of Labour requirements. Specifically keep all work areas clear of debris.
- Other duties as assigned.
