Full job description

Eligibility Requirements – This is based on our funding requirements.

Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

Must be registered at a Canadian post-secondary institution and eligible for co-op placement

We are a lean, fast-paced start-up seeking a Mobile App Developer Co-op Student to help build and maintain a production-grade mobile and web application using modern technologies like Flutter, React, and Laravel. You’ll collaborate with an experienced team including developers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality features and improvements to an active product.

This is a unique opportunity to work on real applications in production, contribute to user-facing features, and gain deep experience across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Develop cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter (Dart) for IOS and Android
Build responsive, user-friendly web applications using React (JavaScript/TypeScript)

Implement backend APIs and business logic using Laravel (PHP)

Work closely with designers and product managers to deliver intuitive and polished features

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Test, debug, and deploy application updates using Firebase

Participate in Agile processes: sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups

Maintain technical documentation and track tasks using collaboration too

Tools You’ll Use

Languages & Frameworks: MySQL(Must have), Flutter (Dart), Laravel (PHP)(Must have), React (JavaScript/TypeScript), Swift (Xcode) (Must have)

Collaboration & Dev Tools: Git / GitHub, Jira, Notion, Slack

Qualifications

Required:

Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program and returning to full-time studies in Winter 2026

Working toward a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (3rd or 4th year preferred)

Extensive knowledge of mobile app development:
Proficiency in major app development languages including
Flutter
Swift

XCODE

Laravel / PHP

Java / React / JSON

Experience with source code management tools (e.g. Git)

Experience with RESTful APIs and relational databases (e.g., MySQL)

Experience with profiling and debugging mobile applications

Familiarity with working in an agile environment

Familiarity with push notifications

Understanding of mobile app design guidelines and aware of differences between platforms

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team
