Job Title: Casting Operator Level 3
Reports To: Casthouse Manager
Location: Conveniently located in Pickering, just south of Highway 401 at Brock Road.

Rate of Pay: $27.00 per hour

We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-focused Casting Operator Level 3 to join our Casthouse team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with furnace and mold preparation, metal handling, and casting under close supervision.
· Support experienced operators during melting, alloying, and pouring processes.
· Perform basic quality tasks such as temperature checks and sample prep.
· Follow all safety procedures related to working with molten materials and heavy equipment.
· Maintain cleanliness of mold room, casting area, and surrounding workspaces.
· Use hand tools, carts, and PPE as trained to support safe, efficient operations.
· Participate in training rotations and ask questions to build technical skills.
· Communicate effectively with teammates and participate in safety/shift meetings.
Qualifications:
Required
- Previous manufacturing, foundry, casting, or heavy industrial experience.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and production requirements.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform simple addition.
Preferred
- Experience operating casting, furnace, or molten metal processing equipment.
- Forklift, overhead crane, or mobile equipment experience.
- Knowledge of aluminum casting processes and quality standards.
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs.).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
- Comfortable working in hot, noisy, and physically demanding industrial environments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including heat-resistant clothing and respiratory protection where required.
