About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Technician to keep our shop floor, equipment, and facility running clean, safe, and production-ready. This is a hybrid role — part facility upkeep, part machine care. You'll handle everything from housekeeping and waste management to CNC preventive maintenance, coolant systems, and general building repairs. What You'll Do
Machine & Equipment Care
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on CNC machines and shop equipment
- Manage coolant systems — monitor levels, mix ratios, top-ups, and coolant changes
- Change filters, belts, fluids, and other consumables per PM schedules
- Assist with machine clean-outs during changeovers and shutdowns
- Document all PM activities per ISO 9001:2015 requirements
Facility Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop floor, common areas, washrooms, and break rooms
- Manage waste removal — chips, scrap aluminum, general waste, recycling
- Perform minor facility repairs (lighting, plumbing, doors, dock equipment)
- Maintain HVAC filters, ventilation systems, and general building systems
- Keep loading dock and yard areas clean and organized
- Snow removal and grounds upkeep as needed
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain spill kits and respond to fluid spills promptly
- Support health and safety initiatives and keep SDS documentation current
- Ensure facility meets ISO 9001:2015 housekeeping and 5S standards
- Flag maintenance issues and equipment concerns to management
What You Bring
- 2+ years in a manufacturing or industrial facility maintenance role
- Hands-on experience with machine preventive maintenance (CNC environment preferred)
- Familiarity with coolant systems, cutting fluids, and industrial lubricants
- Comfortable with basic hand and power tools
- Ability to read and follow PM schedules and checklists
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail — you notice what others walk past
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and being on your feet all day
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Experience in an ISO-certified environment is a plus
Compensation
- Starting at $22/hr CAD (commensurate with experience)
