Henki Sauna Co is a Toronto-based sauna company specializing in custom and pre-fab saunas. We are looking to build a small roster of reliable finish carpenters and carpentry crews for ongoing custom sauna installation projects across the GTA.
Full-time and project-based subcontractor opportunities are available.
This is not a one-time handyman job. We handle the customer relationship, sauna design, material supply, heater selection/installation, and overall project scope. We are looking for skilled carpenters who can execute cleanly, communicate well, and work professionally in finished residential spaces.
Typical scope of work may include:
- Minor framing modifications
- Insulating and applying high-temperature vapour barriers
- Installing cedar or thermally modified wood T&G wall and ceiling boards
- Building sauna benches and backrests
- Installing trim, fascia, sanding, and finishing details
- Working from supplied drawings, material lists, and installation details
- Maintaining a clean and professional job site
Ideal candidate:
- Has strong finish carpentry, millwork, paneling, or custom interior experience
- Is comfortable working in finished residential homes, basements, condos, and renovation environments
- Can follow supplied drawings and installation details
- Communicates clearly and shows up reliably
- Has strong attention to detail
- Can provide photos of previous finish carpentry or millwork work
- Has their own tools and transportation
- Has liability insurance and WSIB clearance or is willing to discuss coverage requirements
Sauna experience is helpful but not required. Strong finish carpentry, paneling, bench-building, cedar work, or custom interior experience is more important.
Most projects are in Toronto and the GTA. Occasional work may be available in cottage areas or surrounding Ontario regions.
Compensation:
Pay will depend on experience, role type, and pricing structure.
For subcontractors, we are open to hourly, day-rate, or fixed project pricing.
