Home Comfort Centre is a family-owned Richmond Hill business, proudly serving the GTA since 1989. Our 6,000 sq ft showroom represents some of the world's most respected kitchen and bath brands — Gessi, Dornbracht, Fantini, Axor, Hansgrohe, Grohe, Duravit, TOTO, and Porcelanosa — plus premium air and water purification systems.
Two of our sales consultants are retiring this spring after more than 25 years with us each — a rare coincidence of timing that creates an unusual opportunity. We wish them both a wonderful retirement, and we're looking for two people to step into their roles, ideally for the long haul.
This isn't a transactional retail job. Our clients are homeowners renovating their forever home, interior designers specifying for their projects, and custom home builders delivering on high expectations. Selling here means asking the right questions, knowing the products inside-out including the technical details, and guiding people — and their designers — through decisions that matter to them. Product compatibility, rough-in dimensions, and spec accuracy are part of the craft.
What you'll do
- Consult with homeowners, designers, and contractors on their kitchen and bath projects — from a single faucet to a whole-home specification
- Advise customers on our premium water and air purification systems alongside fixtures
- Support external designers by supplying accurate product knowledge, compatibility checks, and technical specifications that make their projects go smoothly
- Build and present project quotes, handle technical compatibility questions, and close sales through a consultative process
- Develop ongoing relationships with repeat designer and contractor clients
- Continuously learn our product lines through manufacturer training and our in-house resources (we're investing in an internal AI tool to make product knowledge faster to access)
What we're looking for
In order of what we've found matters most:
- The ability to read a customer and build genuine rapport. This is the job. Customers arrive with big decisions, often overwhelmed by options, sometimes with a designer or spouse who has different views. The consultants who succeed here read the room, match their tone, ask the right questions, and make people feel looked after. If you can do this, most other things are can be supplemented with our training.
- Technical accuracy that customers can trust. The next most important thing. Our quotes need to be right: compatible products, correct rough-ins, nothing forgotten. You don't need to arrive as a technical expert — we'll train you on the products — but you need to be someone who wants to get the details right across many product categories at once (faucets, toilets, tubs, showers, tile, accessories, lighting), and takes pride in catching mistakes before they ship.
- A track record of sales success in a relevant environment. Luxury retail, lighting sales, premium appliances, or kitchen-and-bath industry experience all translate well. Cold-calling experience is a plus. If you've sold products where product knowledge and trust matter more than discounts, we'd like to talk.
- English and Mandarin fluency required. Additionally, Cantonese is a significant asset — a meaningful share of our clientele speaks Chinese.
- Construction, renovation, architectural, or related trade exposure is a strong plus.
- Someone looking for a long-term home. Our best people stay a long time. We invest heavily in training, and we want that investment to compound for both of us.
Compensation & benefits
- $65,000–85,000/year (base + commission + bonus). Top performers exceed the upper range.
- Extended health and dental
- Life insurance
- Paid time off
- Generous employee discount on premium products
- On-site parking
- Structured onboarding plus ongoing product and sales training
- Full-time, permanent, in-person. 8-hour shifts.
