Full job description

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

We are currently recruiting for a Labour & Employment Legal Assistant on behalf of a well-established, unionized firm in Toronto. This is a replacement hire, joining a collaborative team supporting two partners in a busy and structured practice.

This role requires experience supporting labour matters such as arbitrations, grievances, or tribunal proceedings.

Responsibilities:

Draft, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
Prepare and file materials for tribunals including OLRB, GSB, and HRTO
Manage calendars, deadlines, and limitation periods for assigned lawyers
Coordinate hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and client meetings
Maintain organized file systems (including opening, closing, and archiving files)
Handle incoming communications and track key dates
Enter dockets daily and assist with billing, pre-bills, and reporting
Provide general administrative and clerical support to the team

Requirements:

3-5 years of legal assistant or law clerk experience (labour & employment preferred)
Experience supporting lawyers in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of tribunal processes and timelines
Solid document drafting and proofreading skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Experience with NetDocuments and Soluno is an asset
Strong communication skills and professional client service approach

Compensation Benefits:

$60,000-$64,000

Work Setup:

Hybrid model (2 days in office, 3 remote)
First 6-8 weeks fully on-site for onboarding
